Definitions and examples of: match on action, shot-reverse-shot and the 180 degree rule

Match on action: A match on action is when there is an action about to happen, then there is a cut and after the cut the action is in the same place as it was before the cut.

Shot-reverse-shot: A shot-reverse-shot is when you are looking at one character shown through another characters point of view. This is then reversed so the character you were looking at first shows us the other character through their point of view. This can be shown through an over the shoulder shot, or a point of view.
